Gastric Bypass Surgery South Africa

Unread post by Chandan » Sat Aug 25, 2018 7:04 pm

Weight-loss or bariatric surgery has helped many overweight and obese people lose a ton of weight.

However, whether you opt for a gastric bypass or a gastric sleeve -- both popular types of weight-loss surgery -- the procedures are not without conditions or cons.

1. Only extremely overweight or obese people should consider weight-loss surgery

If you're considering weight-loss surgery, you must have a body mass index of 40 and above and must have made serious attempts to lose weight in the past. According to medical weight-loss specialists, you must not be suffering from any disease that may be causing your excess weight and must also not have "drug, alcohol or emotional problems". The screenings involve psychometric assessments.

2. Cost
It could cost anything from $9000 to $12,000 and upwards, depending on the procedure. But in India, it is $4500 with world class Doctors and facilities.

My doctor has suggested that I have gastric bypass surgery. I cannot afford the procedure in the United States. My doctor has suggested I go to India for the procedure. Can anyone give me information on doctors and hospitals in Dehli? I also need to know about the hotels in Dehli so I can pick an appropriate lodging for after the surgery. There are organizations here that help to arrange the whole trip but it is sometimes difficult to know who is trustworthy. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Don't be concerned at all. You are gaining muscle, so you will see a slight increase for about 3 weeks or so. The toning will help. If you are concerned, measure yourself. You will see inches lost, even if you see an increase in the scale. The muscles you are working hold water, so that weighs more too. Look it up, don't be scared. That is great how you are doing. I had my gastric sleeve the end of October last year and went from 199 to 148 but I work out a lot. I was 143 at one point before working out but went up hitting the gym. I am okay with that because I get toned and it looks better. I am working on a six pack or four pack, LOL. :) Good luck and don't worry.

Can I ask you why did you choose to do a Bypass and not the Sleeve

Hey, it's great to see someone with the same starting weight as me and had a gastric bypass. Can I ask you why did you choose to do a Bypass and not the Sleeve. I am having trouble picking one of them. I can't wait to drop to a normal weight and get back to the gym, right now I can't even walk for more than 20 mins :( Best of luck on your toning journey!
